Our senior staff are college age and older. Each group of 11 - 14 campers has one senior counselor plus a co-counselor (graduating high school senior) or a CILT (a high school volunteer). These two individuals play the central role in their group's experience; they guide children as positive adult role models, responsible leaders and trusted friends.
At Sunny Skies we also have specialist instructors. Specialists have experience and knowledge in a particular camp activity and are hired to instruct at the following activities: swimming (certified lifeguards), horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, animal care, nature/ecology, camp crafts, rock climbing, and offsite adventure.
How do we select our staff? That's a very important question because staff selection and training are the most important things we do...
